Remembering 9/11

Come this Sunday, it will have been 10-years since the events of “9/11″. And while this tragedy is not (unfortunately) unique in the world, it is one of the larger incidents of its kind. It is not my intent to imply that the actions committed on that day were any worse than any other similar incidents that occur all over the world; that somehow this one is more important than the others because of where it occurred - it is not. All such incidents are equally reprehensible.

But this post is not about those events or the individuals responsible for them. No, this post is about remembering those who fell. I wanted to let people know about “WeWillRemember.org“. It is the brain-child of my sister, who is setting it up and running it. It is (in her words) “[A] new work in progress specifically for 9/11 and the families directly affected by the tragedy of that day ten years ago. This effort is a tribute to those lost and the ones left behind resulting from the events of September 11, 2001.” Part of her plans for the site include providing a place, free of charge, to anyone who would like to post non-negative comments, pictures, stories, etc. about someone they may have lost in the events of that tragic day. She has also written and recorded an original song that is posted on YouTube; there is also a link on the WeWillRemember.org website.
